BP is taking a significant step forward as its H2Kwinana initiative moves into front-end engineering and design, putting Western Australia at the forefront of the global green energy movement.
- The H2Kwinana Project: Transforming into a leading clean hydrogen hub
- Front-end engineering and design phase commenced for BP's H2Kwinana
- Renewable hydrogen hub to supply domestic and export markets
BP has reached a key milestone as its H2Kwinana initiative moves into front-end engineering and design, putting Western Australia at the forefront of the global green energy movement.
This milestone follows a successful feasibility study, supported by the State Government, which predicts significant growth potential for hydrogen production once operational.
The H2Kwinana project will include significant on-site electrolysis capacity, hydrogen storage, compression and loading facilities, with hydrogen production expected to commence in 2026.
In addition, BP plans to enhance its existing hydrogen pipeline infrastructure in line with various state government initiatives to promote diversification and renewable energy.
