Multimillion-Dollar Boost to WA Decarbonisation Projects

Innovators in Western Australia working on decarbonisation projects can now apply for funding through the Lower Carbon Grants (LCG) Program - Gorgon Fund. With a total funding pool of $33.6 million, the LCG program is designed to support large-scale research and innovation initiatives aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions. It also encourages the testing, demonstration, and deployment of technologies that contribute to decarbonisation efforts.

The grants, ranging from $5 million to $15 million, are available for projects that deliver industry-specific, translatable solutions or address challenges in existing supply chains. The funding is part of a larger initiative to accelerate green technologies and services in Western Australia.

This program is part of a four-year, $40 million funding agreement with the Chevron-operated Gorgon Project, and will also support the establishment of the GreenTech Hub, a new initiative designed to foster innovation in the green tech sector.

Applications for the LCG program are open until June 6, 2024. For more details, visit https://www.wa.gov.au/service/business-support/industry-assistance-schemes/lower-carbon-grants-program-gorgon-fund
