Eligibility
To be eligible for full membership, you need to have completed an accredited or recognised qualification and relevant work experience in the Smart City and Innovation field. If you are studying an accredited or recognised relevant course, you are eligible to join as a student member.
Membership Types
- Student Member: Individuals currently enrolled as a full-time student at a university or other higher education institution with an interest in smart city technologies and related fields. You will have access to selected publications, events and networking opportunities.
- Graduate Student Member: Individuals who have completed their undergraduate studies and are pursuing a postgraduate degree in a smart city related field. They have access to all the benefits of student members plus additional access to conferences, workshops and professional development opportunities.
- Associate Member: Individuals who have completed their education or are working in a smart city related field but do not yet meet the requirements for full membership. They have access to all the benefits of Graduate Members, plus additional access to exclusive publications and online resources.
- Member: Individuals who have demonstrated a certain level of competence and experience in a smart city related field. They have access to all the benefits of Associate Members plus additional recognition of their achievements and opportunities to serve in leadership positions within the organisation.
- Senior Member: Individuals who have made a significant contribution to the field of smart cities and have demonstrated leadership and professional excellence. They have access to all member benefits plus additional opportunities for mentoring and collaboration with other Senior Members.
- Fellow Member: Individuals who have achieved the highest level of professional recognition in the field of smart cities. They are recognised for their outstanding contributions to the field and have access to all the benefits of Senior Members plus additional opportunities to influence the direction of the organisation and the field as a whole.
Other types of membership:
- Corporate Member: for companies that are interested in smart cities and want to keep abreast of the latest developments in the field. Corporate members have access to resources such as conferences, webinars and research papers. They also have the opportunity to network with other corporate members and professionals in the field.
- Honorary Member: awarded to individuals who have made a significant contribution to the field of smart cities. Honorary members have access to all resources and networking opportunities and are recognised for their contribution to the field.
- Life Member: an honorary membership category awarded to individuals who have made significant contributions to the field of smart city technology, e.g. who have demonstrated a distinguished record of achievement in the field of smart city technology through leadership, research and/or publication, and who have reached the age of 65. In addition to recognition, Life Members are entitled to all the benefits of the Fellow membership category for life.
