A new website offers quick and easy access to information about environmental incidents and pollution responses in Western Australia. The Environment WAtch website serves as a central place for the public to stay informed about pollution, illegal dumping, clearing, and other environmental issues.
The mobile-friendly site supports the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation’s 24/7 Environment WAtch service. This service collects reports from the public and industry on matters like noise, dust, odour, and waste discharges.
Users can submit complaints through a simple online form. The website also includes an interactive map showing selected active environmental incidents across the state.
In the last financial year, calls to the department’s hotline led to 373 responses by the environment team. These responses addressed serious events such as hazardous waste fires, chemical spills, fuel leaks, and harm to wildlife.
Pollution reports can still be made by calling 1300 784 782. For emergencies or life-threatening situations, the number to call is 000.
The website is available at www.environmentwatch.wa.gov.au
