Join us for the final session of the Thinking with the Digital workshop series with Mohamed Chamas. This session will be run in person so that you can experience your creations with VR and digital equipment.

These workshops center around creative applications of technology, such as Virtual Reality, games and entertainment media, what it means to be using them presently, and how to approach them as both tools and a part of the art making process. We will explore methodological, logistical, and , technical considerations in making with digital tools in an arts context. This workshop focuses on finding a strong design approach that challenges common narratives of creative technology use, with some software skills instructed and further, specific instructing if required.

This workshop is for young and emerging artists of colour living around Melbourne.

Suitable for participants of all levels.

This workshop is FREE. Registration via Eventbrite required.

Donations are welcome, and will contribute to the development of programming for creatives of colour.

Facilitator:

Mohamed Chamas is an artist, independent game developer and poet based in Naarm (melbourne). Chamas' work synergizes mysticism and emerging technologies. Chamas' Virtual Reality (VR) works exist as unsurveilled sites of healing for orientalized bodies; namely سايبر تصوف (cyber tasawwuf) 2018. Chamas has exhibited VR installations at Testing Grounds, Seventh Gallery, Trocadero Arts Space and Incinerator Gallery.
