West Tech Fest Secures $500,000 Sponsorship for Continued Growth

West Tech Fest, Australia's longest-running tech festival, has secured an additional $500,000 in sponsorship to ensure the event continues for another two years. The funding, provided through the New Industries Fund, will support the week-long festival, which showcases Australia's vibrant tech sector to a global audience.

Scheduled for 4-8 December, this year's West Tech Fest will feature over 20 events, including West Tech Main, West Tech Women, and the brand-new West Tech Coast, along with the Innovation Showcase and Freo Startup Fest. The festival attracts innovators and investors from around the world, creating valuable opportunities for networking and collaboration.

In addition to the main festival, 14 satellite events will take place across the region, focusing on topics such as blockchain, Web3, agtech, and diversity in innovation. Notable events include the Mandurah Tech Showdown, Perth Biodesign Showcase, and First Nations X, highlighting the diversity of ideas and talent within the local and international startup communities.

West Tech Fest, hosted by Curtin University, is supported by a broad range of sponsors from government, industry, and education. The event has become a cornerstone for the state's tech ecosystem, helping to foster entrepreneurship, innovation, and economic diversification.

The New Industries Fund, which is behind the sponsorship, aims to support emerging businesses and projects that drive economic growth and create local jobs.
