Safety improvements planned for Snowy Mountains Highway at Pine Valley

Motorists using the Snowy Mountains Highway at Pine Valley will benefit from a series of upgrades to improve safety and reliability. The improvements, funded by the Australian Government's Heavy Vehicle Safety and Productivity Program and the NSW Government's Network Efficiency Program, will see sections of the highway widened to accommodate both light and heavy vehicles.

Improvements include widening the eastbound left turn lane at Kosciuszko Road and installing safety barriers to improve traffic flow.

This section of the Snowy Mountains Highway has seen increased activity due to increased traffic, particularly heavy vehicles, associated with Snowy 2.0.

Widening and sealing of one kilometre of southbound shoulders is already underway and is expected to take six weeks to complete.

Construction on the interchange upgrade is expected to start soon and be completed by the end of May, weather permitting.

All construction activities will take place between 7am and 6pm on weekdays and between 8am and 1pm on Saturdays.

These safety improvements are designed to improve the overall travel experience for motorists and ensure safer journeys along this vital route.
