Queensland is making significant progress towards its 2030 renewable energy target, surpassing 25% of the state's energy supply. Driven by solar and wind, the Sunshine State is on track to exceed its target of 50% renewable energy by 2030.
The ongoing implementation of Queensland's Energy and Jobs Plan is expected to connect an additional 682MW of new clean generation by the end of 2023. This surge in renewable energy deployment, facilitated by significant investment and global collaboration, has seen Queensland's renewable energy supply grow by more than 20% in just one year and more than 250% in eight years.
The Queensland Energy and Jobs Plan will legislate renewable energy targets of 50% by 2030, 70% by 2032 and 80% by 2035, ensuring widespread access to clean, reliable and affordable electricity for future generations.
