Project summary: The purpose of this project is to implement the latest 3D technologies to develop a new platform where the community can access a 3D representation of the current building environment, development approvals and proposed planning changes. This will provide the benefits of increasing engagement of the community and stakeholders in the planning and development of the local urban environment.
The challenge: To improve Council’s services in delivering information and increased engagement of the community and stakeholders in the planning and development of the local urban environment. In addition, the project will provide greater capabilities for data-driven decision making in council planning.
Solution: By developing a web based digital platform of the entire LGA in 3D representation, along with integrating relevant planning instruments with 3D model data. The solution will also involve the development of an internal platform portal K2Vi, for planning and control assessment.
Benefits: This project has increased innovation and capability in Woollahra Municipal Council through collaboration and smart city innovation ecosystem development. Woollahra Municipal Council now has the latest 3D technologies giving the community access to a 3D representation of the current building environment, development approvals and proposed planning changes.
