New multi-storey car park opens for Sunbury commuters

Commuters in Sunbury and the surrounding area now have more parking options at their local station with the completion of a new multi-storey car park.

The four-storey structure provides an additional 300 commuter parking spaces and 100 new retail spaces. The development aims to alleviate parking congestion on nearby streets that are frequently used by commuters, shoppers and local business owners.

The new car park features disabled parking, improved lighting, signage and lifts, as well as improved pedestrian access.

This project follows the recent upgrade of the Sunbury Line, which included improvements to signalling, station accessibility and platform extensions in preparation for the opening of the Metro Tunnel in 2025. These upgrades are designed to maximise the benefits of the new tunnel, which will significantly enhance public transport in Melbourne by improving connections and increasing service capacity.

The Sunbury Station car park is part of the broader Commuter Car Park Upgrades - Northern Lines project, which has received significant funding support.
