Powerlink has officially opened the first Queensland SuperGrid Training Centre and Transmission Hub in Gladstone. The facility will serve as a regional training hub for energy workers, enhancing their skills to meet the demands of a growing workforce and supporting the evolving focus in the Gladstone region.
While Powerlink finalises the acquisition of a permanent site, the interim hub has been established in the Central Queensland Renewable Energy Zone (QREZ). It is strategically located to help deliver a number of regional transmission projects.
The opening of the hub is a significant step for Powerlink in strengthening its regional presence. It will facilitate the upskilling of energy workers each year, covering areas such as high-voltage technical training.
