Belgrave Station gets state-of-the-art multi-storey car park to improve commuter experience

 Belgrave Station multi-storey car park

The recent completion of a new 640-space multi-storey car park at Belgrave Station marks a significant improvement in public transport accessibility for residents in the surrounding area.

The project, part of VicTrack's Car Parks for Commuters Program, has increased parking capacity at Belgrave Station by 470 spaces, including lifts and 16 accessible spaces on the ground floor. Notable features of the new car park include a public announcement system, 11 hoop bike racks and real-time parking availability signs for user convenience.

In line with sustainability efforts, the car park is equipped with six electric vehicle chargers as part of an ongoing trial. Other improvements include a covered pick-up and drop-off area, road widening to improve access and upgrades to the bus interchange area to facilitate smoother bus exits.

Ongoing work will focus on reinstating and improving the pedestrian link between Hayes Place and Belgrave Station in the coming weeks. For more information on the Belgrave Station car park project, visit carparks.vic.gov.au.
