A new Renewables Manufacturing Hub will be built in Blacktown to strengthen Western Sydney’s role in Australia’s clean energy future. The $66 million project will create 143 full-time jobs and expand local capacity to supply key components for renewable energy projects.
The hub will be operated by Sell & Parker, an Australian-owned company with more than 60 years of experience in the steel industry. It will receive $28 million in government funding, with an additional $38 million invested by the company.
The new facility will produce 780 turbine anchors each year for the wind sector, thousands of torque tubes, mounts and brackets for solar farms, and 200 monopoles for power transmission. Once complete, the hub will produce 46,000 tonnes of steel annually.
This development will support local manufacturing and help meet growing demand for renewable energy infrastructure. It will also boost Western Sydney’s industrial capability and contribute to the state’s progress toward a low-carbon economy.
The project is part of a wider initiative to help Australian manufacturers expand into renewable supply chains and develop innovative, low-emission products.
