Robopalooza 2025 Showcases WA's Global Leadership in Robotics

The 2025 Robopalooza space festival has arrived in Perth at the Australian Automation and Robotics Precinct (AARP). The festival brings together robotics competitions, exhibitions, and innovation in one place.

Now in its second year, Robopalooza features a lunar rover competition, live music, a robotics exhibition, and a startup pitch contest. The event is held in partnership with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, a global leader in advancing technology.

Robopalooza draws visitors from around the world. It inspires young engineers and scientists while highlighting Western Australia’s strength in robotics, automation, and new technologies.

Western Australia is known worldwide for its leadership in these fields. The state invested $28 million to create the AARP, a major innovation hub. The precinct serves as Australia’s largest site for testing and developing automation, robotics, remote operations, and zero-emissions technologies.

The first Robopalooza was held in 2024 in California’s Mojave Desert. Seven teams from three countries competed by guiding a 300-kilogram planetary rover over terrain like the moon’s surface. A team from Western Australia, backed by Fugro’s Space Automation, AI and Robotics Control Complex, won the competition.

Robopalooza 2025 strengthens WA’s global profile in robotics and automation. The festival is a platform to build future talent and attract international attention to the state’s innovation capabilities.
