Queensland Tourism Businesses Encouraged to Embrace Digital Tools

Small tourism operators across Queensland can now access new funding to improve their digital skills and technology use. More than $3 million has been made available through the Tourism Business Digital Adaption Program to help over 1,000 businesses modernise their operations and enhance visitor experiences.

Eligible micro, small, and medium-sized tourism businesses can apply for rebates of up to $2,500. The program supports investment in digital tools such as booking systems, marketing software, and content creation platforms.

The initiative includes free online training, a Digital Champions network, and financial support for implementing new technology. In the first year, more than 400 operators received nearly $1 million in rebates to upgrade their digital capabilities.

The program aims to strengthen Queensland’s tourism industry by helping small businesses stay competitive and connect better with customers in an increasingly digital market.

Queensland Tourism Industry Council CEO Natassia Wheeler said the program helps small operators build confidence in using digital tools and connect with other tourism businesses. She said digital adaptation was key to improving efficiency and attracting new audiences.

Applications for rebates are open until November 2025.
