Queensland will deliver major support for small and family businesses through the 2025–26 Budget, with $130 million in new programs and a $1 billion digital investment fund. The plan aims to build a stronger economy and improve services for Queenslanders.
The Budget provides new grants and initiatives for the state’s 495,000 small and family businesses. It includes a $19 million Apprenticeship Pilot Program and new support for construction and professional care industries.
A $40 million Secure Communities Partnership Program will focus on improving safety for local businesses. The Small Business Support Network will receive $16.8 million to continue operations until 2028. The Network offers free and confidential access to financial counsellors and wellness coaches to help businesses manage recovery after challenges such as natural disasters.
A new $1 million Small and Family Business Innovation Pathway will connect local businesses with opportunities to develop short-term solutions that improve government services.
The Budget also introduces the $1 billion Queensland Government Digital Fund to modernise and coordinate digital and IT systems across the public sector. Managed by the Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business, the fund will enable more strategic investment in essential technology that supports government services.
These measures aim to support business resilience, encourage innovation, and strengthen Queensland’s economy through modern digital systems and a thriving small business sector.
