Queensland has officially launched a new role to advocate for job creation in the renewable energy sector. Aaron Johnstone, with a career spanning nearly three decades in public policy and industry collaboration, has been appointed as the state's first Renewable Energy Jobs Advocate. His role will focus on providing strategic advice to the government, promoting job opportunities, and helping guide Queensland’s energy transformation toward a clean and sustainable future.
As the Renewable Energy Jobs Advocate, Mr. Johnstone will engage with regional communities, energy stakeholders, and First Nations peoples to ensure that the benefits of renewable energy projects reach all parts of Queensland. This includes advising on the social and economic opportunities provided by the renewable energy sector, particularly in regional areas.
Johnstone brings a wealth of experience to the position, having held roles at Cement Concrete and Aggregates Australia, the Australian Industry Group, and as the founder of Interact Policy and Industry Solutions. His work will be instrumental in ensuring that Queensland’s transition to renewable energy continues to create jobs and economic growth.
