Launch of Net Zero Essentials programme to help SA businesses reduce emissions

Small and medium sized businesses in South Australia now have access to practical support to reduce their carbon footprint with the launch of the new Net Zero Essentials program.

Business SA will oversee the delivery of the program over a six-month period, using a $150,000 grant to provide valuable support to participants.

Through a combination of online training and face-to-face guidance, businesses will gain insight into their emissions and learn effective strategies to minimise them.

Expressions of interest are currently being sought from small and family-owned businesses in both metropolitan and regional areas.

Recognising the importance of environmental sustainability to business owners, the initiative is in line with the forthcoming Small Business Strategy, which reflects extensive consultation with a wide range of local businesses.

The inaugural Industry Climate Change Conference in Adelaide will bring together more than 800 business leaders to discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with South Australia's transition to net zero emissions.

The Net Zero Essentials program is just one of the initiatives the government is driving to meet its ambitious emissions reduction targets by 2030 and ultimately achieve net zero emissions by 2050.
