Ipswich is taking a significant step toward sustainability with a new agreement to power the city's infrastructure with 100% renewable energy. Starting on 1 October 2024, the deal with CleanCo Queensland will provide renewable power to Ipswich City Council's major buildings and streetlights, helping to reduce the city's carbon emissions.
The renewable energy will be sourced from the Dulacca and Kaban wind farms, alongside CleanCo's firming assets like the Wivenhoe Pumped Hydro Power Station, ensuring a stable and reliable energy supply for the city. This initiative supports Ipswich's ongoing journey toward sustainability, marking a major milestone in the region’s transition to clean energy.
The Swanbank Clean Energy Hub, which will soon feature the Swanbank Battery, further underscores the commitment to innovative and sustainable energy solutions in Ipswich and across Queensland.
