Global Energy Company Expands in Victoria Creating New Jobs and Boosting Battery Storage Industry

A major global energy storage company is expanding its Australian headquarters in Melbourne. The move will create up to 100 new skilled jobs and strengthen Victoria’s role in clean energy development.

Fluence, a US-based company, is a leader in grid-scale battery energy storage systems. It began operating in 2018. Australia is its second largest market outside the United States. The company is currently involved in several energy projects in Victoria, including in the Latrobe Valley.

The new expansion will increase local battery storage capabilities. It will support local industries and supply chains. It will also help advance renewable energy goals.

Fluence’s growth in Victoria follows other clean energy companies choosing to invest in the state. Italian firm Energy Dome recently opened its Asia-Pacific headquarters in Melbourne.

Battery storage plays a key role in building a reliable energy system. It helps store renewable power and deliver it when needed. Fluence says this expansion shows its confidence in Australia’s clean energy future.

Victoria is aiming for 95 percent renewable energy by 2035. Its energy workforce is expected to grow to more than 67,000 people by 2040. The state is focusing on innovation, jobs and sustainable technology to support this transition.
