CSIRO is offering small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the cybersecurity and digital technology sectors the chance to participate in a free 10-week virtual program designed to accelerate their R&D efforts.
CSIRO's Innovate to Grow program is back with a new round, aimed at providing critical research and development (R&D) support to Australian SMEs in the fast-growing cybersecurity and digital technology sectors. The program connects businesses with expert knowledge, resources, and mentors to help validate and advance R&D ideas that could lead to market-ready solutions.
Participants in the program will have the opportunity to refine their ideas and, upon completion, can apply for funding through the Kickstart program, where CSIRO will match R&D funding dollar-for-dollar. The program is designed to help SMEs overcome challenges such as limited access to capital, time, and resources, which often hinder the commercialization of new technologies.
Dr. Marthie Grobler, Principal Research Scientist in human-centred cybersecurity at CSIRO's Data61, encourages eligible businesses to apply for the program. “SMEs are the backbone of Australia’s economy, and many have the potential to make a significant impact on cybersecurity and digital technology innovation,” said Dr. Grobler. "Innovate to Grow is an invaluable resource for businesses looking to take their ideas to the next level."
This round of Innovate to Grow is expanding to include digital technology, offering more SMEs the chance to turn their ideas into real-world projects with commercial potential. The program is designed to help businesses not only grow but also create job opportunities and increase revenue.
The program will start on 12 October 2023, and applications are open until 17 September 2023. SMEs in the cybersecurity and digital tech sectors are encouraged to apply online for a chance to participate in this free program.
