Western Australia is hosting the AgriFutures evokeAG. 2024, the Asia-Pacific region's leading agrifood technology event, marking the first time Perth has been the venue for this prestigious gathering. The event, taking place at the Perth Convention Centre, has attracted over 1,800 delegates from across the globe, including participants from China, the UK, and the US.
Over the next two days, the convention centre will become a vibrant hub for innovation, featuring keynote speeches from top minds in agriculture, focusing on sustainability, productivity, food security, and renewable energy. The event provides a unique platform for Western Australian food and agriculture startups to connect with potential international investors.
Western Australian startups are set to showcase innovative solutions, ranging from eco-friendly alternatives to plastic, new methods for producing bioenergy, and groundbreaking biosensor technology for animal health. One of the standout projects at the event is the 'Open Weed Locator,' an open-source technology developed by local researcher Guy Coleman, which helps farmers create DIY weed detection systems.
In addition to the main event, WA will host 35 specialty events throughout the week, including regional tours in the South West that highlight the State’s leading agrifood businesses and primary producers. These initiatives provide a comprehensive view of WA’s agricultural innovations, further cementing its position as an international hub for agri-tech development.
