Dianella Secondary College is now home to the $6 million Dandjoo Performing Arts Centre, funded as part of the WA Government's economic stimulus package. The centre includes a 254-seat auditorium, a large stage, green spaces, foyer, facilities, study areas and storage.
In addition to these features, the project included the renovation of the existing school drama room into a dance studio. Designed by Parry and Rosenthal Architects and constructed by EMCO Building (Merym Pty Ltd), the new facilities provide a modern and dynamic space for artistic expression.
Named Dandjoo, which means 'coming together', the Performing Arts Centre provides engaging classes and hands-on learning opportunities for students in Years 7 to 12. It also serves as a communal space for the college community to connect and collaborate.
Since 2017, the WA Labor Government has allocated more than $4.4 billion to improve and expand schools across Western Australia.
