Sponsorship boost elevates Australia's premier tech festival

West Tech Fest receives an additional $500,000 in sponsorship to ensure the week-long festival continues for another two years.

Supported by the Government's New Industries Fund, this technology and innovation-focused event has developed a global presence, attracting innovators and investors from around the world.

Established as Australia's longest running tech and innovation festival, this year's program features 20 events from 4-8 December, showcasing Western Australia's technology sector to a global audience.

Hosted by Curtin University and presented by the Cook Government, the festival is supported by a range of government, industry and education sponsors.

Highlights include West Tech Main, West Tech Women, the inaugural West Tech Coast, Innovation Showcase and Freo Startup Fest. In addition, 14 satellite events will complement West Tech Fest, covering topics as diverse as diversity and innovation, blockchain, angel investing, and agtech.

The Cook Government's New Industries Fund, totalling $25.8 million, supports entrepreneurship, innovation and economic diversification with the aim of creating more local job opportunities.
