World-First Land Use Data Platform Land iQ Licensed for Industry Use

A groundbreaking land use data platform, Land iQ, has been licensed for use by the private sector to accelerate pre-planning processes and ensure consistent data and methodologies across government and industry.

Developed by Property and Development NSW (PDNSW) in collaboration with multiple agencies and technology partners WSP Australia, Giraffe, and Aerometrex, Land iQ integrates over 200 data sources and 75 land-use data types. This comprehensive platform enables faster and smarter strategic evaluations of land use.

Land iQ supports a wide range of applications including land assessments, management, valuations, and improved risk analysis related to climate pressures and natural hazards. It also benefits universities conducting urban and regional planning research and Local Aboriginal Land Councils managing their land and development opportunities.

The platform has been instrumental in government initiatives such as the NSW Property Audit to identify land suitable for housing and in disaster response efforts, including flood emergency accommodation planning in 2022.

The licensing of Land iQ to the private sector will enhance their capacity by providing access to consistent, high-quality data and advanced analytical tools, supporting greater digitisation in the planning and property sectors.
