Western Australian GreenTech Hub Opens to Boost Local Innovation

The Western Australian GreenTech Hub, known as The Hub, has officially opened with a clear goal: to build local skills and capacity in green technologies and services.

This new facility responds to the growing need for technologies that support WA’s move toward a low-carbon, sustainable, and strong economy.

Operated by Curtin University, The Hub works as an independent centre. It brings together government, industry, universities, and the community. The Hub will run innovation challenges and host Curtin’s Accelerate Program to encourage new ideas and solutions.

The first challenge focuses on advanced energy storage systems. The goal is to lower reliance on fossil fuels and cut greenhouse gas emissions.

The Hub is part of a larger four-year, $40 million program funded by the State Government and Chevron’s Gorgon Project. A total of $4 million has been set aside to run The Hub over the next four years.

More details on how to join The Hub’s challenges and programs are available at greentechwa.com.
