New Funding Round Opens for Clean Energy Projects

Developers of clean energy projects can now apply for the second round of the New Energies Industries Funding Stream.

Up to $60 million is available through this round of the Investment Attraction Fund (IAF). The funding supports projects in areas such as critical minerals processing, renewable hydrogen, green iron and steel, and carbon capture, utilisation, and storage.

The first round, held in 2024, provided $60 million to five projects. These projects included efforts to reduce emissions in steel manufacturing, create high-value battery materials, and develop carbon capture technology.

Since 2022, the IAF has backed 47 projects with over $200 million in funding. The program aims to help new industries grow and create local jobs, while making the economy more diverse.
