Western Australia’s small and medium-sized enterprises are set to benefit from a $6.6 million investment aimed at accelerating digital transformation. The funding will help local businesses adopt modern technologies and strengthen their competitiveness in a changing economy.
The support will be delivered through the Local Capability Fund (LCF) under its Digital Transformation Round. The program assists businesses in using digital and data tools to improve productivity, safety, and resilience.
A total of 77 businesses across metropolitan and regional areas have been selected for funding. Each received up to $25,000 on a matched basis to help cover transformation costs.
Projects funded include automation of packaging and industrial systems, adoption of digital design and fleet management technology, and the expansion of ecommerce platforms. Many applicants also focused on improving cybersecurity through audits, planning, and system upgrades.
The Local Capability Fund has so far provided more than $29 million in grants to over 800 businesses. More than 440 of these are regional enterprises. The fund has helped generate $1.33 billion in new contracts and created over 2,600 jobs and 300 apprenticeships across the state.
The Digital Transformation Round continues this work by supporting local companies to embrace innovation and digital growth. It strengthens Western Australia’s business capability and prepares industries for future opportunities.
