Another 60 Western Australian public schools are embarking on greener initiatives with energy efficiency upgrades funded by the Schools Clean Energy Technology Fund.
In the third round of funding, schools across the state applied to install Light Emitting Diode (LED) lighting to reduce energy costs and carbon emissions.
Successful applicants include 32 regional schools and 28 metropolitan schools, contributing to a total investment of $44.6 million over four years.
This initiative builds on existing programs such as the Solar Schools Program, Synergy's Virtual Power Plant Program, and the replacement of lighting with LED fixtures as part of general maintenance in schools.
