Innovation games build a runway to sustainable fashion

The South Australian iteration of the National Innovation Games starts in Adelaide this morning with participants tackling sustainability challenges in the textile and fashion industries.

At the Adelaide Town Hall today and tomorrow, the Games will see groups brainstorming practical solutions for sustainability in all stages of the product lifestyle.

More than 200 virtual and in-person participants comprised of VET and university students, government representatives and academics will compete in the Games.

Each team will present their ideas and solutions to a judging panel in a competition format to win prizes and help drive industry change.

Any intellectual property developed through the Games is open source meaning it is available for participants and industry to adopt.

The event, organised by the Council of Small Business Organisations Australia and Paddl Co, is also supported by several Adelaide fashion names including Acler, Holiday Trading Collective and uniform supplier Imageworks.

The Games are also funded by the State and Federal governments, City of Adelaide, Flinders University and TAFE SA.
