Funding Opportunities Open for Western Australian Innovators

Innovators and entrepreneurs across Western Australia can now apply for the latest round of Innovation Booster Grant (IBG) and Commercialisation Bridge Grant (CBG) programs. Both programs aim to support local start-ups and growing businesses to develop and bring new ideas to market.

The IBG now offers up to $50,000 in funding for early-stage founders, innovation-driven small businesses, and start-ups. The program helps businesses refine, test, and validate new products or services. It also provides resources for protecting intellectual property and gaining certifications. Since 2021, the IBG has provided more than $5.5 million to support 182 innovation projects.

The CBG supports high-growth enterprises with grants of up to $250,000. The funding helps businesses advance product development, strengthen intellectual property, and prepare for commercialisation. Since 2024, more than $2 million has been distributed through the program to support 11 local innovators.

Both programs are funded through the $40 million New Industries and Innovation Fund. This year, additional support has been introduced for regional, female, and First Nations-led businesses.

Applications for the IBG close on Friday, 10 October at 4pm. The CBG closes on Friday, 24 October at 4pm. Online information sessions for applicants will be available, with details listed on the official government website.

These grants continue to strengthen Western Australia’s innovation ecosystem by helping creators turn bold ideas into viable products and services.
