Contractor Appointed for Warradarge Wind Farm Expansion

Vestas has been selected to build 30 new wind turbines as part of the $400 million expansion of the Warradarge Wind Farm in Western Australia’s Mid West. The project is expected to be completed by 2027 and will almost double the wind farm’s capacity.

The expansion will add 103 megawatts of renewable energy to the existing 180 megawatts already connected to the South West Interconnected System. The total capacity will be enough to supply electricity to about 164,000 households each year.

Bright Energy Investments, a joint venture between Synergy, Cbus Super, and CVC DIF, owns the Warradarge Wind Farm. The expansion will strengthen the State’s renewable energy network and support the shift toward a cleaner energy mix.

The wind farm forms part of a wider investment in onshore wind and large-scale battery projects, including major installations in Kwinana and Collie. These projects aim to create a stable and sustainable power system for communities across the State.
